The Short Answer
Yes. Gotham Dental accepts most PPO dental insurance plans. If you have a PPO plan through your employer or purchased independently, there's a good chance we're in your network or can work with your out-of-network benefits. Our team verifies insurance before every appointment so you know exactly what to expect before you sit down in the chair.
What Is a PPO Dental Plan?
PPO stands for Preferred Provider Organization. It's the most common type of dental insurance in the United States, and it offers the most flexibility — you can typically see any licensed dentist, in-network or out-of-network, and your plan covers a portion of the cost either way.
Common PPO providers include Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, Guardian, United Concordia, and many others. If you're not sure what type of plan you have, check your insurance card or log into your insurance provider's website. If it says PPO anywhere, give us a call.
What Gotham Dental Does Not Accept
We want to be transparent so you can make the right decision for your care. Gotham Dental is an independent private practice and does not accept Medicaid, Medicare, HMO dental plans, or government-sponsored insurance programs.
If you currently have one of these plans, we recommend contacting your plan administrator to understand your out-of-pocket options, or searching for a provider in your network.
What If I Don't Have Insurance?
No insurance? No problem. Many of our patients pay out of pocket and we're happy to discuss treatment costs or payment agreement options upfront so you can plan accordingly. We believe everyone deserves to know what they're paying before any treatment begins — no surprises, no hidden fees.

It's simple. Call us at (212) 253-1850 or email schedule@gothamdental.com with your insurance provider name, birthdate and member ID. Our team will verify your benefits and let you know what your plan covers before you come in. Most verifications are completed the same day.
